For many years Il Duca di Orvieto has been the sole restaurant in Orvieto who specializes in historic traditional cuisine based on ancient local recipes. we offer an unforgettable service, with our staff dressed in medieval costumes. Our restaurant is perfect for anyone who wants a “gastronomic tour” of historic Orvieto.
We exclusively offer FREE parking permits for tour buses and coaches with guests eating at our restaurant. This permit allows the bus to drive through Orvieto and park inside the ex Caserma Piave, only 500 meters from our restaurant.
Menu – minimum 30 people
First Course
Choose one of the following:
Pinchi (typical fresh pasta) with rich Orvietana ragù sauce
Risotto with “Sagrantino” wine reduction and seasoned ricotta
Pici (fresh pasta) Franciscan style (sausage, mushrooms and tomato).
Second Course
Choose one of the following:
Pork in red wine sauce
16th century lemon and honey chicken
Spiced beef with aromatic herbs and porcini mushrooms. (16th century recipe taken from a banquet of a noble family from Orvieto. Beef finely beaten with a knife and mixed with 30 types of aromatic herbs and then baked in the oven)
